Turned out to be busy…

01.07.10

How about that. I thought this week was going to be slow and have nothing going on… boy was I wrong. Things have been humming along here in Greenville so I certainly can’t complain. We’ve got a new guy on board, so it’s been nice getting to know some more fellow co-workers.

Next week I get to hang out in Boca working from home. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish up some of this work that’s been hanging over my head. It’s been hard to get some of it done when I’ve been slammed here with conference calls and team discussion.

The following week I get to head out to Phoenix for a week. We’re going to be demoing our reporting environment for a bunch of folks, so that should be fun. It’s at a fancy resort type place, but unfortunatly, due to the fact that I am a vendor, I was not invited to stay there, so I’ll be staying at the wonderful and luxurious Springhill Suites by Marriott down the road in beautiful Scottsdale, AZ. What fun.

I’ll once again be flying, so I am going to tie up some loose ends here before I go to catch my flight.

The ebb and flow of the blog…

01.04.10

Sometimes I feel bad about not writing in my blog and other times, I feel like just saying screw it. I know I have a small but loyal following that constantly checks on my updates, but even that doesn’t really give me reason to write. I don’t know why I really do it in the first place. If nothing else, it’s a little bit of a sounding board and a growing record of my life as it’s been in the past, and that’s been kind of nice to see what I’ve been up to.

So now that the holidays have come and gone, we’re into a new year. The holidays were spent in the hospital with Melissa’s grandmother, as she was recovering from some back surgery and we spent new years at home, Melissa cooking an amazing Beef Wellington, which as it turned out was perfectly cooked, just 4-5 hours late. Nothing like filet mignon at 11:45… no better way to bring in the new year.

This week I’ve been shipped up to Greenville to “kick off the new year”, but there’s really no on here…not even our project sponsor, so I’m kicking it here in the bullpen with a fellow co-worker. I have this feeling that the week is going to crawl. I’m sitting dead in the water in terms of getting cracking on work as I’ve been locked out of the system.

I have this feeling that I’m gonig to have a bit of time on my hands as this week crawls along, so I won’t go into too much details as to the happenings of my life, as I want to have something else to write about later on. Cheers!
